Current Scenario
The BNB Greenfield mainnet currently maintains 10,000 historical entries. This large volume significantly contributes to the extensive storage requirements of the staking module, resulting in increased maintenance costs for BNB Greenfield full nodes.
Observations
Through observation on the testnet, it indicates the current number of historical entries exceeds actual requirements. Maintaining such a high number is not only unnecessary but also imposes an undue burden on BNB Greenfield network’s resources.
Proposed Changes
It is proposed to reduce the number of entries from 10,000 to 100 through two separate proposals. The first proposal aims to decrease the number from 10,000 to 5,000, and once implemented, it will initiate another proposal to further reduce it to 100.
