About the BNBChain NewL1 Category

Welcome to the NewL1 Forum :tada:

What Is NewL1?

NewL1 is a Vertical-Optimized General-Purpose L1 — a new member of the BNB Chain family, fully EVM-compatible, purpose-built for trading, payments, privacy, and AI. BNB is the native token; no new token will be issued.

It complements BSC rather than replacing it: BSC continues serving its mature ecosystem, while NewL1 targets workloads that require deep architectural changes BSC can’t retrofit — connected through an official native bridge.

What This Forum Is For

Design discussions happen here, in the open. Each core component has its own dedicated thread:

Tokenomics & Gas · TxOrder (PreConf, Priority Lane) · Consensus · P2P Network · VM & Execution · Storage · Privacy · Post-Quantum

Please keep discussion within the relevant thread.

Ground rules: be constructive, search before posting, back technical claims with reasoning, and no token/price speculation — this is an engineering forum.

Hey @zzzckck , thanks for the article and news!

Is the name of new BNBChain evm going to be “NewL1”? I find it pretty confusing…

Hey guys, I’m currently doing lots of research in regards to the onchain prop AMM on BSC. I mean, I think it’s a clear value for newL1 to work with the current scope of what you already have on BSC and to transfer it somehow to newL1

On the prop AMM side, you have around five most obvious players - you have Tessera, you have Native RFQ (not fully prop AMM but we still going to consider this in this area), you have Metric, who recently deployed for bstocks, etc.

So for you, logically, in my vision, is that you need to focus on your existing partners and just understand what’s reasonable for them to do, because I think you already have enough people and protocols to work with

You just need to fully understand what’s reasonable for them, and maybe it’s to change something in the block-building space. You have BlockRazor and 48 Club currently processing like 90 percent of the blocks - if you consider this a problem, maybe let’s start focusing on the hyperliquid approach, where they have a much more decentralized system of validators, where people stake HYPE and then they can get like a limited validator space

Because let’s say, in general, about the market situation right now with prop AMMs and how everyone is saying how efficient they are and how BSC is not efficient for them - looking at DefiLlama, let’s take the approach where we’re just measuring Tessera and comparing it with other L1s or L2s. Tessera on BSC, for the last 30 days, has done more than 600 million volume, comparing to base Tessera, which completed less than 50 million.

So I think people just don’t fully understand the market conditions, saying “oh, BSC is not efficient for prop.” I mean, which is not true, because you can see based on on-chain factors BSC is doing more volume for prop AMMs already. It means that you already have a good infra on BSC, maybe you just need to have a better understanding of what’s Tessera on BSC, and in this approach you can just scale BSC prop better.

For example, let’s say they would need to have like a private RPC directly with one of the block builders - I think it’s possible to implement on BSC currently. So then the question comes: do we actually require a new L1, which is already questionable?
